How can arts students bell CAT?


A common grouse students from arts, commerce and humanities streams have is that they are left in the lurch as Common Admission Test aligns itself more towards engineering graduates. With IIM-A revising its admission policy to include non-engineers, gear up and don’t leave anything to chance. Here are some tips for non-engineers to tame CAT.

Back to the basics
More often than not, it is not the topics that students are afraid of, but the ‘fear’ that they will not be comfortable with the subjects. Brushing up Class VIII, IX and X mathematics is a sure shot way of tackling the Quant section. It is quite understandable that arts students lose touch with ‘hardcore’ mathematics right after Class X. Beyond stereotypes, all students are well versed with topics like arithmetic, algebra, geometry, number systems and mensuration, which make up most of the questions in CAT.
