Parliament through

AICTE Act 1986  with a view for proper planning and coordinated development of technical education system throughout the country, the promotion of qualitative improvement of su

ch education in relation to planned quantitative growth and the regulation and proper maintenance of norms and standards in the technical education.

Genesis of CMAT

AICTE in its mission to reduce the burden of students in attending to multiple examinati

ons has launched the first national level

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)- 2012

for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programs approved by AICTE

from year 2012-13. The initiative was taken to addre

ss the issue of physical, mental and financial stress

being imposed on the students through number of entrance examinations being followed by the

institutions for admission into all Management Programmes in AICTE approved institutions
